May I suggest the KentuckyInstitute forInternational Studies (KIIS)Greeceprogram June 27-August 1?KIISis a consortium of 25 colleges and universities,including the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, Transylvania University, Marshall University, etc. Some schools are outside Kentucky--Ball State is the onlyIndiana member, f.e.

The 2021Greeceprogram is focused on the humanities and social sciences, with coursesinClassical Cultures (Classics), English, History, and Political Science (please see the courses athttp://www.kiis.org). Most courses are available for Honors credit, too--subject to the approval of the Honors program at your school. All courses are taughtinEnglish. Each student takes two courses (it is possible to arrange to take only one). Six credit hours areincludedintheKIISGreeceprogram fee. Graduate credit is available for some courses.

Our team of faculty are very experiencedstudyabroad-ers: Co-Directors, Dr. Chris Shea and Dr. Richard Jackson King (both Classics profs at Ball State have led the program for 14 years), and faculty members Dr. Thomas Bunting (a Political Science prof at Shawnee State University who's traveled with us once before), Dr. Jill Parrott (an Eastern Kentucky University English prof who's focusing on travel writing and rhetoric and philosophyinthe West), and Dr. Jeff Rice (an English prof of Western Kentucky University, also focused on rhetoric, writing, and philosophy--he's traveled with us five timesinthe past).

Our timeinGreececombines small, seminar-like classes with active, excursion-based learning. We have an outstanding itinerary: Athens (the new Acropolis Museum is not to be missed); the honeymoon isle Mykonos; the 'ghost island' Delos; Dionysus' island Naxos; 'Spring Break' on the lip of the volcano on Santorini (optional); Milos, where the Venus de Milo was found and where we’ll visit Christian catacombs; Sifnos, where our hotel is right on the beach; Delphi, the mountain sanctuary of Apollo; Olympia and Nemea, sites of the great games; the fortress of King Agamemnon at Mycenae and mighty Acrocorinth; ancient Corinth, where St. Paul preached; the great theater at Epidauros, etc., etc. We stayincomfortable hotels whileinGreece(3 students per room, with private bathroom). During your five unforgettable weeksinGreece, you’ll likely develop some great friendships with students from BSU and the other schools of theKIISconsortium.

TheGreeceprogram fee is $5,475 andincludes:

- 6 credits (2 courses)

- Airport transfersinGreece

- Visits to all the sites described above but Santorini, which is optional

- Hotel accommodations for duration of program

- A hearty breakfast each day

- All group excursions and entrance feesinGreece

- All group transportationinGreece(thatincludes transportation to all islands)

- Comprehensive medicalinsurance and security evacuation protection

- A $250 deposit due at time of application.

The optional round trip group flight is an additional charge (approx. $1800). If you prefer, you may purchase your own airfare and meet the groupinAthens.Inthese difficult times,KIISis offering two new special programs:
